Mac OS X Version of iSpQ 7.2 Released

The newest version of iSpQ VideoChat is now available for Mac OS X! Video Chat 7.2 for Mac OS was just released and is available as a free upgrade to all iSpQ 7 owners. This new version includes the Photo IM feature that lets Mac users send webcam photos to iChat, Adium and Yahoo! buddies. In addition, this new version includes easier network setup, increased security options, the emoticon picker, and packs in many small fixes and enhancements.

“This is an important Mac release and we are pleased to be able to offer it as a free upgrade,” said Bob Summers, president of nanoCom Corporation. “Our Mac users are a vital part of the community.”  For more information on this release visit the Mac Video Chat Release page.

Big Changes Coming to iSpQ Web

Over two years ago we launched myspq.ispq.com as a new element of the iSpQ VideoChat community. The site provides access to picture polls, search, account information, and web profiles. Some of the features of the site - such as search - have been unavailable because they adversely impacted other parts of the iSpQ community. However, this web-based component of iSpQ will be going through major renovation in the coming months.

With the new iSpQ Web, you will see some new features, as well as the end to others. Among the features that will not be available is the profile picture poll. This feature will be disabled for several months while we evaluate a new way of providing this fun aspect of iSpQ. The new features will become available to you without any changes on your part. Thank you for your patience while we improve this part of the iSpQ Community.

First Ever Community Forum a Big Hit

On February 23rd, Bob Summers hosted an open text chat to get feedback about iSpQ VideoChat from the community. This was the first of its kind and the response was overwhelming, with over 120 users participating. The two hour chat session covered a wide-range of subjects including community monitors, new features, and more. The non-moderated chat was a challenge for many to follow, but provided us with some very valuable feedback that has already made a positive impact on iSpQ.

Though not all questions were addressed directly in the chat, we have gone through the entire chat and reviewed everyone's feedback. Many expressed that they are very happy with iSpQ VideoChat and want to see the community continue to grow. Our members also want to see the video quality improve and have easier ways to meet new people. All suggestions are appreciated and are being considered! One of iSpQ’s greatest strengths has been the valuable feedback from its members and we continue to listen.

In the near future, Bob plans to hold more online meetings to get additional feedback as we continue improving the software and the community. If you have a suggestion or a concern about iSpQ please feel free to contact us.

It can't be stated enough - thank you to all of the people who participated!

Tip: Action-Packed Text Chat

Have an urge to hug someone or express yourself in a different way in a chat room? iSpQ supports chat actions in public chat rooms and MyPlaces. The action command is used by typing “/action” followed by the desired text action into the chat. For example, typing

/action hugs the entire chat room

shows Joe hugs the entire chat room where Joe is your Display Name. Typing “/a” can also be used as a shortcut (instead of “/action”).
