iSpQ VideoChat Server Upgrade Complete

In September of 2004, we began the process of performing a major upgrade to the core software that runs the iSpQ video chat system. The software upgraded is responsible for QM delivery, online presence, security and more. Upgrading the core services was necessary to support the growth of the community and provide a strong foundation for new features and capabilities. In addition, the new software is more reliable and scalable than previous versions of iSpQ server technology.

The upgrade process was completed at the end of March and the new server software is exceeding our expectations. We thank you for your patience during the upgrade process.

Supporting Our Local Community

nanoCom, makers of iSpQ VideoChat, is the proud sponsor of a FIRST Robotics team that is composed of local high school students, college mentors, and practicing engineers. The team, called “Hokie Guard” Team 401, recently took first place out of sixty-three robots in a regional competition and won the Motorola Design Excellence award. Students that participate in the program learn about math, science, engineering and technology.

nanoCom has sponsored the team since its inception, six years ago, by providing financial and engineering resources. “Participating in the robotics program has been a fun and rewarding experience for all of us,” said Bob Summers, President of nanoCom. “Through this program we get a chance to help students reach their potential.”

For more information, such as how to start or support a team, visit FIRST Robotics at http://www.usfirst.org.

Tip: Multi-Select Quick Messages

iSpQ VideoChat 7 for Windows and Mac allows you to select multiple quick messages so that you can conveniently delete or save a group of messages at the same time. To select multiple quick messages:

Windows:  Hold the Control or Shift key down while selecting messages with your mouse.

Mac OS:  Hold Apple or Shift key down while selecting quick messages with your mouse. Apple + “A” will select all messages.

Once selected, use save or delete to perform the desired action. Note that the MacOS version will also allow you to drag and drop selected messages to your desktop.

Our software development team is hard at work innovating iSpQ VideoChat and we need your help. The beta test program has always been a valuable part of the software development process by providing us feedback on prerelease versions. Members of the beta test program benefit by actively participating in shaping iSpQ.
